h3. Apostrophes, Quotation Marks & Spans. Support of foreign characters was lacking in textile 2.0 so textile 2.2 now adds support for unicode matching. p=. Où est l'école, l'église s'il vous plaît? Textile 2.0 has a few problems with the combination of phrase modifiers (which add spans around inline elements), quotation marks and apostrophe-'s'. Not all combinations of modifiers work under textile 2.0... p=. *_The_* _*Prisoner*_ ...it also has a problem closing smart-quotes around modified text... p=. "An emphasised _word._" & "*A spanned phrase.*" Apostrophe-'s' has a few problems too... p=. "*Here*'s a word!" ...and textile 2.0 leaves the closing quotation mark untouched around quoted links... p=. "Please visit our "Textile Test Page":http://textile.sitemonks.com" Look carefully at the output from textile 2.0 -- you'll see a few oddities.
